A Broncos double worth the trip

The 2025 Grand Final day was worth the trip to Sydney. We arrived early, took in the fan-zone atmosphere outside Accor Stadium and found our seats with plenty of time to watch the ground fill.

The day started with the NRLW Grand Final, where the Broncos beat the Sydney Roosters 22–18. The Roosters fought back in the second half, but Brisbane held on to claim the women's premiership and set up the possibility of a rare Broncos double.

The men's Grand Final delivered just as much drama. Melbourne led 22–12 at half-time, but Brisbane fought their way back into the game and won 26–22. The last few minutes were tense, and the reaction around us when the result was finally secure was something I will not forget.

The trophy laps, premiership screens and celebrations around the stadium made for a perfect finish. Travelling to Sydney and seeing both Brisbane Broncos teams crowned premiers on the same day made the whole trip completely worthwhile.
